Project Managers: 

Position requires a PE licensed in Connecticut with at least 10 years of experience. Responsibilities include: managing the production of basic to complex levels of design for site, grading, utility, storm drainage plans and related tasks. Presenting at public meetings are integral functions of this position. Client and gov't agency interactions, managing internal budgets and production staff are some of the duties of this position. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary.


Project Engineers: 

Candidates should have a minimum of four (4) plus years of experience within the area of land development, site design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control design. The candidate shall be able to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment where no two days are ever the same. The ideal candidate needs to have a firm grasp of the residential and commercial civil site design process, as well as, a basic idea of the municipal land-use approval process.   Proficiency in Civil 3D, familiarity with the CT Drainage Manual, DEEP Water Quality Manual, and CT Guidelines for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control is required.  BSCE is required. EIT required or PE preferred. 


Staff Engineers: 

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience within the area of land development, site design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control design. The candidate shall be able to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment where no two days are ever the same. Proficiency in Civil 3D desired. BSCE is required. EIT required. 


Senior Civil Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience within the area of land development, site design, storm water management, and erosion and sediment control design. The candidate should be able to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment where no two days are ever the same. The ideal candidate needs to have a firm grasp of the commercial and residential civil site design process, as well as, a basic idea of the municipal land-use approval process. We are looking for a self-started who wants to advance their career into a senior leadership role

About You:

  • A leader to develop project goals and negotiate the daily activities of complex land use projects

  • Adhere to State requirements for the design and quality control of plans and specifications for municipal and State projects

  • Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings)

  • Design oversight/project administrative work

  • Work with manager and other team members to resolve design issues

  • Work closely/ constant communication with other engineering and architecture disciplines within Freeman Companies and with outside consultants

  • Manage the project’s schedule, progress and reporting requirements

  • Present findings and design solutions to Owner and project team

  • Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required. EIT or PE preferred
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with: CT Drainage Manual, DEEP Water Quality Manual and CT Guidelines for Soil Erosion and Sediment Control
  • Excellent technical, organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project
